CAPE ADIEU
CRUISES & CHARTERS
Cape Adieu Cruises & Charters operates with a simple idea at its core: two distinct experiences, one shared philosophy of life on the water.
At the centre of it all is Cape Adieu, the mothership and the heart of the operation.
Throughout the dry season, she settles into Darwin Harbour, hosting intimate sunset dinner cruises that lean into the slower side of the Top End. It’s here that the focus turns to good food, considered service, and the kind of atmosphere that only comes with a Territory sunset backdrop.
Running alongside her, but in different lane, is The Salty Brumby. Purpose-built for fishing, the Brumby operates year-round, chasing seasons, tides, and fish across the Top End. This is the hands-on side of the business, early starts, moving water, and days shaped entirely by the tides. From barra in the estuaries to reef and pelagic species offshore.
During the dry season the two vessels come together for the ultimate package the Catch, Cook & Cruise experience. It’s a seamless collaboration between both sides of the business: the Brumby heads out for a day of fishing, putting guests onto quality fish, before returning to Cape Adieu, where the catch is prepared fresh on board. As the sun drops over the harbour, the experience shifts from action to atmosphere. A day’s effort on the water turned into a meal, enjoyed in one of Darwin’s best settings.
For most of the year, the vessels move in their own rhythm. But when November and December roll around, the operation shifts again. As the build-up sets in and the crowds thin out, Cape Adieu and The Salty Brumby come together for THE ULTIMATE adventure, remote fishing safaris. The mothership providing live aboard accommodation, dining and a place to reset, while the Brumby heads out each day to fish the surrounding systems. It’s a balance of comfort and adventure, where long days on the water meet relaxed evenings anchored in some of the most remote parts of the Northern Territory.Together, the two vessels create a rhythm that follows the seasons: calm evenings, high-energy fishing days, collaborative food-driven experiences, and for a short window each year, fully immersive safaris that bring it all together.
